Just finished a book by Francis Chan, pastor of Cornerstone Church in Simi Valley. The whole book talks about our response to this crazy love that the Creator of the universe extends to us. This is an extremely challenging book...one that calls us to put our faith into action and to respond differently than most of us always have. He also has a great website that goes along with the book with some challenging videos.Chan writes this in Crazy Love, "The goals of American Christianity are often a nice marriage, children who don't swear, and good church attendance. Taking the words of Christ literally and seriously is rarely considered. That's for the 'radicals' who are 'unbalanced' and who go 'overboard.' Most of us want a balanced life that we can control, that is safe, and that does not involve suffering."
If you want a book that makes you uncomfortable and challenges you to evaluate your faith and your response to this "Crazy Love," this is the book for you.
